End of 2015 review ⚽

The start of this season has exceed my expectations beyond belief. Being a newly formed team, playing a new game format and now playing the dreaded offside rule was never going to be easy and the boys understood that we would face some tough competition and losses, but I'm sure you'll agree we have all been pleasantly suprised. We are still making the same silly mistakes and falling into bad habits but it's nothing that cannot be fixed. We had a chat at training last week and agreed as a team we are going to set some 'Titan rules' for 2016 and are going to work on team work, posivity and visual awareness.

Let's talk about the postives for 2015. The big one for me was (apart from being a Titans Manager ☺) was the return of Cameron. He bring a presence and belief to the team that we needed and makes a perfect strike partner for goal machine Billy. Yes Cam and Billy can score with their eyes closed but for me it's great that we have had so many different goal scorers. Joseph, Callum, Charlie, and new Titan Harrison have all hit the back of the net, some on more than one occasion along with Sam and Haydn who have narrowly missed on a few occasions.  Then we have our defense who get better, stronger and more structured each week. Emre is improving week on week and has great communication. Ben is a consistent as ever which he showed today and Jaiden had been a powerhouse in the middle. These 3 are key for 2016 along with our new keeper Oliver. Some amazing and daring saves made and there nothing better than other managers commenting on your performance. Performance of the season so far for Olli is the 0 - 0 draw with Uppermill.

Every single of on my Titans does me proud and a little fine tuning and we will be unstoppable. Thanks for all your efforts in 2015.

Signol vs Heyside (FA Primary cup)

Today was always going to be a challenge. Heyside are 2 divisions above us and a really good team but we showed how far we have come already as a team.
It was disappointed to see the boys heads go down just before half time but a quick 'Lindsey chat' and spirits were renewed. Loads of positives from today and it was lovely to see some pockets of great passing. Tons for us to work on and today proved we can't settle and live of previous wins. Good attitudes again today boys. See you all at training on Thurs for some serious positioning work.

Signol vs Stalybridge Celtic 3/10/15

Another week and another win. We started the game strong the same as last week playing a great first 10 minutes even scoring with the first 5 thanks to a great strike from Cameron. The rest of the first half was a little sloppy.  We seem to panic being ahead and lost the ability to pass, control or keep possession. We ended the first half 2-1 courtesy of a great goal by Billy. 2nd half was a big improvement.  We moved with the ball, used the space of the pitch and held the momentum. Fair play to Stalybridge they fought a good game but it pleases me to say we were the better team all day long. Goalscorers today were Cam 2 Billy 2 Callum 1 Joseph 1 and a peach of a penalty by Charlie.
Proud of each and everyone of you.

Exactly 2 weeks ago we were beaten 11-0 in a friendly by Uppermill. Today a very different Titan team who walked onto the pitch. The first 10 minutes of the game were the best football I have seen from the Titans. Some lovely passes and communication and I personally think we shocked Uppermill. Outstanding game again from Oliver who denied every single attempt made, some great commendations from the referee, Uppermill coaches and parents. Some strong defensive work from our 3 defenders who cover their positions well, the Uppermill attack tried to challenge us but failed. Great work in midfield and attack and we even had a couple of good chances. If only we could remember to stay on side 😉

Great game today, great result and great teamwork I couldn't have been prouder.⚽⚽

Single Titans vs West End Boys 19/9/15

What a difference a week makes. The same focus that all players have shown throughout the season was radiant in this match. We stuck to our positions more and worked for the ball. West end gave us a great game but Titans were victorious with a 3-2 win including a great goal from Billy who headed it in after a great free kick. Momentum got the better of us with less than 5 minutes to go when we conceded a sloppy goal but the determination stayed until the final whistle with us getting the win. Great boost for the boys.

Signol Titans vs Uppermill Blues (friendly) 11/9/15

Apologies for the lack of updates. It's been a crazy couple of weeks for the team.

First we had our defeat in a friendly to Uppermill Blues. Reports from Steve were that it was a tough game buy the Titans kept their heads held high and team spirit ruled. Plenty of postives and areas to work on in training.

PLEASE PASS ONTO THE BOYS ⚽

I am gutted I am not going to be there on Saturday. This match will be much more even than last week and if everyone plays to the best of their abilities this should be a good result. We have got a great team but you all need to keep your heads up and keep in the game. I was really proud of how we didn't lose our heads last week especially with the result, that isn't something that comes easily to a lot of teams so regardless of the outcome keep those heads up. Key points to remember,  positioning. This was a massive fail last week as we were all over. Communication and postive comments among the team. Good luck. I'll be waiting for the results.  ⚽⚽

Man of the match. Voted by all players and myself. OLIVER HART

Signol Titans v Mossley 5 / 9 / 15

First game of the season is always going to be tough even more so with a new team size, bigger pitch, offside and a newly formed team. Like I said before kick off the score wasn't important and it's clear to see what areas as a team we need to work on. However we had some postives and if we can start our next game the way we played the second half the results should go in our favour.

I would like to add thought that one of the Mossley parents waited for me by my car and informed me that the Mossley team we played today were 4 divisions above last season and it looks like they have been placed wrong. So we did better than the scoreline suggested. Please pass that on to the boys.
